Our Story
The Baker Next Door’s origin story is quite literally about the baker next door.
Jenna and her spouse Jereb moved from San Francisco to Redwood City with their first baby. There, they met their new neighbors, Brian and Amie, as well as their two teenagers.
The four instantly got along, sharing a love for cafés and bakeries of lore in Europe and the Bay Area. They concluded that the Downtown Redwood City community needed a quality, neighborhood bakery to meet and share good food and coffee.
Four kids, shared meals, babysitting, graduations, and a pandemic later, Jenna and Brian set out to open a bakery and café in downtown Redwood City.
The Baker Next Door was born.
Today, The Baker Next Door serves artisanal bread and pastries at popups as building construction is completed. Brian, Jenna, and their team look forward to opening the doors and welcoming the community into their café on Main Street in 2024.
